The Nanaimo Child Development Centre is a community-based not-for-profit organization that has been an integral part of the community since 1967.
The NCDC provides specialized developmental services for children and families, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, supported child development, infant development, family development, child and youth development, assessment services, parent/guardian education, and support in navigating community resources and systems. We assist each child to build on their strengths while developing new skills.
Over 1,900 children and families received assistance from the Centre in the past year. This year, donations raised through fundraisers will go towards purchasing specialized therapeutic equipment, funding our Family Resource Navigator program to provide parents with community resources, education, and support, and facilitating our summer camp for children with developmental needs.
